Achievements of the Reagan revolution

IN HIS letter entitled ‘The real legacy of Ronald Reagan’ (Irish Examiner, June 18), Diarmuid Kennan is wrong on nearly every point.

Star Wars was a brilliant idea that is even more relevant now that China and some other nations are aiming nuclear missiles at us.

The budget deficit was caused by the Democrat-controlled congress and wasn’t corrected until the Republicans gained control in 1994. Reaganomics favoured a private sector unfettered by central control, allowing individuals to take risks and build businesses.
