Let’s get serious about provision of resources for young people

THE sense of confusion that has surrounded the issue of young people using licensed premises for non-alcoholic events demonstrates the mixed messages emerging from Government in relation to young people and alcohol.

This problem is symptomatic of a much broader malaise in how we treat young people and the prioritisation given to their needs.

Surely the real question is why the pub is the only place that many young people have in both urban and rural areas for entertainment and a social life.
