Government must act to resolve post crisis

THE nation’s postal system is on the verge of collapse. Just what is the problem with An Post?

In commercial terms An Post cannot meet its legal obligation to provide a postal service. Here lies the problem.

However, An Post is not a commercial entity. It is a semi-State body providing an important public and social service to the citizens of this State.
