Change focus on road accidents

AFTER yet another recent weekend of carnage on our roads, we will have everyone demanding, quite rightly, a reduction in speed and an increase in the presence of gardaí.

Will this make a difference? I think not.

Perhaps the powers-that-be will consider subcontracting traffic management to third parties, give them quotas and have them reap the rewards.
