Death-trap in the outside lane

ONE night recently I was driving from Cork to Midleton on the dual carriageway.

Some parts of it are unlit but you cannot have your full headlights on as the screening in the middle is incomplete and full lights would dazzle oncoming drivers.

I had just overtaken another driver and was in the outside lane doing about 50mph. I was coming up to an open part of the carriageway which is used for people crossing to roads on the other side.
