Keep it simple

I REPRESENT a self-advocacy group for people with an intellectual disability within COPE Foundation.

Keep it simple

I am also a self-advocacy representative for the Munster region with NAMI (the national organisation representing the intellectually disabled).

I am puzzled by the Disability Bill. My concern is that those with an intellectual disability however mild have little hope of understanding it. I propose that along with this bill a leaflet be printed aimed at those with an intellectual disability. This could outline the main points using clear, simple language. Pictures and images could also be used on the leaflet to aid understanding.
