Culture capital needs to clean up its act

THE findings of the first ever litter survey of Ireland’s cities only serves to confirm what we already knew about Cork.

The result is a shocking indictment of our level of preparation for 2005, the year when Cork will be European City of Culture.

During the course of that year, the eyes of Europe and elsewhere will be focused on Cork. What conclusions will be formed about our city?
