I AGREE with your columnist Rónán Mullen (Irish Examiner, February 21) on freedom of speech in general, and in particular with reference to self-styled historian David Irving.

His jail sentence only affords him more media attention for his offensive beliefs, and I share historian Deborah Lipstadt’s view that any publicity for him is too much. In this vein, can we have more cartoons of Mohammed... when relevant of course?
