YOU quoted Harvard professor and author Robert Putnam (Irish Examiner, November 18) as saying 80% of 14-year-olds in the US have TVs in their bedrooms.

Teens switch off

That may be the case in America, but it is certainly not true here.

I’m a 14-year-old who doesn’t have a TV in my bedroom, and many of my friends don’t have it either.
