YOUR education correspondent Niall Murray, under the heading “Scrabbling for resources” (Irish Examiner, March 28), clearly spelled out the urgent need of resources for children with learning disabilities.

Schools need coordinated support services

I am in contact with families whose children have been barred from school because of disruptive behaviour and the lack of back-up facilities for the schools, parents and pupils involved.

Because of the lack of facilities, many schools refuse entry to certain pupils. The problems of erratic behaviour, which is serious in some schools, and of disruptive behaviour, have a variety of causes which must be looked at in a caring way.
