I WAS appalled to watch a magic show — Close Encounters With Keith Barry — between 6.30pm and 7pm on RTÉ1 last Sunday.

It included shooting a live round which shattered a pane of glass before the magician (apparently) caught the bullet in his mouth.

This was a very dangerous piece of television shown at a time that children and young impressionable adults are watching.
