On the right track

NENAGH Rail Partnership would like to thank the Irish Examiner for its coverage on January 4 of our trip to Limerick Holiday on Ice as part of our campaign for a commuter service on the Ballybrophy-to-Limerick line.

However, the trip was not a protest as such. Rather the aim was to highlight the fact that people are prepared to use the train if the service is available.

We have received a positive response from Iarnród Éireann and we thank Jim Meade, district manager, and Jim Gallivan, business development manager at Limerick station, for putting on a third carriage at short notice. This shows how Iarnród Éireann are able to respond to unforeseen circumstances.
