Curtain has yet to rise on real flight magic
For an international carrier with a narrow feeder network to covet such an award from an even narrower carrier base seems like the last refuge of the desperate. It also does not say much for the travel experience of the 1,000 CEOs questioned.
As for Ryanair, any problem is your problem. Zero flexibility, one desk for one flight only. Prices are completely elastic, thanks to their yield management. Economy has its price and it can be prohibitively so with Ryanair, unless everything goes like clockwork.
I recently had the most pleasant flight I've experienced in 10 years between Ireland and Belgium namely, Jet Magic between Brussels and Cork. For €180, a convenient late evening departure, human staff with a service ethos, handmade sandwiches en route, with a choice of wine and a reasonable €25 change fee. The return was equally pleasant.
That is my airline of the year.
