Lesson of Bhopal

TODAY is the 20th anniversary of the Bhopal chemical disaster in India when thousands were killed and tens of thousands continue to suffer ill health as a result of the toxins released by the explosion on that fateful day.

This is commemorated annually worldwide as ‘No Pesticide Day’.

The Irish Doctors Environmental Association endorse this and wish to highlight the dangers associated with the extremely serious chemical contamination of our environment, including pesticides used domestically and commercially in agriculture, horticulture and stock rearing.
