City politicians should back pool funds drive

WE are pleased with the decision by Cork city council not to proceed with the privatisation of Douglas swimming pool.

The council decided to send an all-party delegation to meet the minister for sport and others in a bid to secure funding for a new pool.

It is vital that local TDs support this bid for funding to ensure the pool remains in public hands for the benefit of all in our city.
