Air display goes into free-fall over the Rock
My wife and her sister, with three children under nine, attended. They arrived in the ground at 1pm, but nothing happened until 4pm, when a few planes flew about for 15 minutes. There was nothing to do in the intervening three hours except stand in a field and get wet. Most locals left.
Facilities for 40,000 visitors? One chip outlet, one tea/coffee outlet, one ice-cream outlet. They could at least have had bouncy castles, stalls, etc, for the children. The highlight was queuing for two hours for over-priced, soggy chips, and missing the planes when they finally got in the air. The sponsors, Red Bull, cannot blame the weather as they should have had more facilities for people, especially children.
