THE PD leader, Mary Harney, said after the recent local elections that there would be no deals between the PDs and Sinn Féin in council chambers.

She said that this was because no Dáil party should deal with Sinn Féin as long as they were associated with the IRA. Presumably this principled stance will not prevent the early release of Det Gda Jerry McCabe’s killers.
