UN unfinished business needs more resolution

NOW that a crusade is underway to enforce ignored UN resolutions, depose suspected war criminals and allow people freedom and self-determination, we should all anticipate the fall of Sharon and the Israeli position in Palestine. Right?

UN unfinished business needs more resolution

Can we now expect western enforcement of UN resolution 242 of 1967 for a total withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and the West Bank? Can we now expect the 226,000 illegal Israeli ā€˜settlers’ in the West Bank to withdraw their destructive presence?

Can we expect the Israeli Knesset to be forced finally to recognise a sovereign Palestine in accordance with UN resolution 242, as the PLO has recognised Israel for 14 years? I think not. Suddenly the ā€˜shock and awe’ military campaign to ā€œfree the Iraqi peopleā€ dissipates when it comes to Palestinian freedom, and the ā€œroadmap to peaceā€ is dusted down.
