What the oral hearing chairman really said

IN your letters column of March 19, under the heading ‘Incineration plan should go in the recycling bin’, you published a letter from Dorothee Krien.

What the oral hearing chairman really said

The text of her letter inaccurately refers to a statement given by me at the close of the Environmental Protection Agency oral hearing into the proposed Indaver incinerator at Ringaskiddy.

Ms Krien suggests I stated that, though difficult, the agency is about to decide in a certain way. The letter misrepresents me: what I did in fact say was that the task before me writing a report on the objections and the oral hearing is going to be a difficult one.
