Life in the fast lane is fine if you can afford it

CAN someone explain the logic behind allowing taxis (whether they contain Michael O’Leary or not) to use bus lanes?

Life in the fast lane is fine if you can afford it

If I leave my car at home and take a taxi to work instead, how exactly does that help reduce traffic congestion? In fact, won’t it free up a parking space at my workplace and therefore encourage another person to drive to work instead of taking the bus?

Of course, the cost of travelling by taxi deters most people from taking advantage of the fast lane, so it’s left to the well-off (and the taxi drivers themselves) to benefit most from it.
