We need O’Gara
David Humphreys played well against Scotland, behind a pack going forward, but has since had three bad games, when the Irish forwards have struggled.
Humphreys closes down the space for the multi-talented backs, while O’Gara showed in one sublime skip pass to O’Driscoll that he is needed to unlock the much vaunted English defence.
It frightens me to agree with George Hook, but I disagree with Popey when he says that O’Gara is not match fit. The superbly taken drop goal to win the match proved his sharpness.
O’Gara was first choice in the autumn and has not become a bad outhalf because he got a kick in the ankle. We need his ability against the English, when the Irish pack will be pushed to contain those huge forwards.
