His concerns mirror ours and those of other organisations with whom we work in Zimbabwe. It is for this reason that any food aid we supply goes directly to local and community groups which are well-placed to respond “shrewdly” as Mr Hamilton suggests. These groups are representative of the people they seek to serve and are as determined as we are to ensure aid reaches them.
These groups have also gained considerable experience in dealing with the challenges of providing humanitarian assistance to vulnerable people in a difficult operating environment.
