I READ with interest the column by Peter Levy (Irish Examiner, County News, April 19) on republicanism and section 31 of the Broadcasting Act.

Veterans’ stories area matter of record

He refers to my recent contribution on the volunteers who were executed at Victoria Barracks, Cork, during the War of Independence.

Following more than 30 years of being subjected to the revisionist view of the period, it is heartening to see a journalist calling for the recognition of those men and women who participated in the conflict from 1916-’22.
