Anglo United - the new Irish dream team

WHAT the British couldn’t achieve in 800 years of occupation here has now been secured in less than a decade.

Anglo United - the new Irish dream team

We have finally been conquered by the old foe. English culture is all-pervasive. Debenhams, Tesco, et al, are sprouting up from Malin to Mizen; Sky TV beams into every home, Manchester United jerseys are to be seen at every street corner and their wearers’ only regret in life probably is that they don’t have Manchester accents.

English tabloids are a must read every morning and Coronation Street a must see every night.

‘Dublin 4’ journalists who believe ‘all things Irish are bad, all things English are good’ would like nothing better than to see the Act of Union re-enacted.

Wannabe lads and ladettes strut their stuff in our city streets every weekend dressed to suit probably down to their British bulldog boxer shorts.

Oliver Cromwell and his cohorts had it all wrong. There was no need for brutality - we were willing converts all along.
