ON a recent visit to Ireland, I was stunned by Cork’s new infrastructure. If plans already exist for a modern convention centre to be built in Ireland, stop reading now.

If, on the other hand, no-one has thought to take advantage of Ireland’s position as one of Europe’s most popular destinations, can I ask why not?

National and international conferences are commonly attended by thousands of delegates. Dublin is a transport gridlock. Cork has a busy international airport in close proximity to the city and surrounding tourist destinations that are second to none.
