How publicans can show they care

I HAVE been a barman in Cork for many years.

I am amazed at the concern for staff health and safety being dished out by the Vintners Federation in the media.

I have never heard them publicly admit concern for staff health and safety in the past. If they are so concerned with the health and safety of their staff, why have they not installed in all their members’ pubs the ventilation systems that they claim would solve the problems of secondary smoking.

If they are so concerned for staff health and safety they should immediately begin an awareness campaign on the workplace smoking ban.
