Only adult stem cell therapy shows success

I WRITE in reply to your leader, ‘Stem cells therapy: Harney must close all legal loopholes’ (Irish Examiner, March 31.
Only adult stem cell therapy shows success

Medical journals are already reporting success in over 300 cases, where tissue was regenerated using adult stem cells. Dignity-of-life improvements have already been achieved for patients; so fostering this area of research is likely to yield more results for MS sufferers.

In contrast, there has been zero success with embryonic stem cells. Is money the reason that we are being barraged, with propaganda for destroying helpless human lives? Clearly, the scientific market is not prepared to risk its own capital on legal claims from patients, availing of a grim harvest. The abortion lobby, however, wants the communications media to drive governments into funding the frozen ‘concentration cans’.

We need laws, primarily for the always destructive embryo research, as scientists are not angels.

By the way, which one of us was never an embryo?
