Marine exhibition historically important

A RECENT letter (Irish Examiner, March 20) suggested the setting up of an exhibition of marine history in the Limerick/Shannon area.

Marine exhibition historically important

As one who has a history of involvement with shipping and port development in the area, I agree such a project is important and that no time should be lost in collecting the records, among other things, of the seamen and their families, before such material is lost.

I suggest, for a start, that those who secured the ship models of the Limerick Steam Ship vessels agree to make them, and any other records they may have, available, even on loan.
