Stem-cell scandal

LAST December during EU talks, Austria, Italy, Germany, Poland, Slovakia and Malta united to oppose the use of European taxpayers’ money for destructive human embryonic research. To our eternal shame, our Government refused to join them.

Stem-cell scandal

Why? Perhaps because they are funding (with taxpayers’ money) embryonic stem-cell research. This involves the destruction of human life at its earliest stages and is proving to the scientifically useless.

Is this not a national scandal?

Instead, Ireland could, and should, be made a centre of excellence for scientifically promising and ethically correct adult stem-cell research.

A significant fact is that investors are withdrawing more and more from embryonic stem-cell research as something now ceasing to be viable.
