New Year’s Day edition

IT was disappointing to note a series of errors on pages 8 and 9 of the New Year’s Day edition of the Irish Examiner.

1. The caption under the cabinet photograph refers to ‘the Government of Taoiseach Liam Cosgrave’. The photograph is that of a Fianna Fáil cabinet under ‘the real’ Taoiseach, Jack Lynch.

2. The photograph under which the caption “Pope Paul VI” appears is that of Pope John Paul I.
