I WAS appalled at the behaviour of Justice Minister Michael McDowell during his appearance on RTÉ’s Prime Time on April 8.

During a heated debate with Prof William Binchy regarding the upcoming citizenship referendum, the minister behaved in a most unprofessional and juvenile manner.

Mr McDowell attempted to belittle Prof Binchy for, as he put it, ‘trying it on’. One can only question the capabilities of our rulers if a minister feels compelled to address those of opposing views in such derogatory terms to justify the actions of the Government. Now who’s really trying it on, minister?
