THE Walt Disney company is blocking its Miramax division from distributing a new film by satirist and bestselling author Michael Moore that harshly criticises President George W Bush.

Mr Moore’s agent, Ari Emanuel, says that Disney’s chief executive, Micheal E Eisner, asked him last spring to pull out of the deal with Miramax because the company feared the documentary would anger the president’s brother, Governor Jeb Bush of Florida, and endanger tax breaks Disney receives for its theme park, hotels and other ventures there.
