RTÉ’s talking heads are no longer up to speed
However, the disaster that is current affairs on RTÉ commenced long before the most recent Broadcasting Commission decision in relation to ‘political advertising.’
For a number of years now, RTÉ Current Affairs has primarily comprised the same old talking heads, talking the same old nonsense on Northern Ireland, and for the remainder of the time the same old ever decreasing circle of college friends try to outscore each other in what passed for discourse in the pre-television days of university debating societies.
New issues and new voices are seldom covered as the outdated and out-of-touch broadcasters simply interview each other about the few things that they know anything about - very little.
