WITH all the hype surrounding the proposed new national pay deal I would like to draw the trade unions’ attention to the fact that their grassroot members are still being harassed, bullied, intimidated and assaulted in their workplaces.

I appreciate that senior officials must try to negotiate a new pay agreement, but what are the junior officials doing while this is happening?

It seems to me that they are only looking after the bigger picture industrial harmony. But what is industrial harmony without workers? Has the Irish trade union movement become a political party?
