Getting there... but where’s the real train?

TRAVELLING from Dublin to Gorey on a recent Friday, on the 18:30 train from Connolly station to Rosslare, I was looking forward to a mainline InterCity service with a trolley and snack bar, as advertised in the most recent Dublin-Rosslare guide/timetable.

Instead what we got was a commuter service train a glorified DART without trolley and snack bar service.

I and many others who were expecting a mainline InterCity train almost didn't get on board because no platform announcements were made about this.
