A Corkman? Not so Graham Norton

WHY do you persistently refer to Graham Norton as Cork-born?

A Corkman? Not so Graham Norton

He was born at 48, St Brigid’s Road, Clondalkin, and spent the first 10 years of his life in Dublin.

Nobody ever referred to the great Rory Gallagher as Cork-born, even though he was brought there (from Donegal) at a very young age.

We can rightly claim that Christy Ring, Roy Keane and Sonia O’Sullivan were Cork-born. Even Danny La Rue remains proud of his Cork birthright.

But Graham Norton, as he pointed out to Dustin Hoffman on his TV show, is a Dub.
