GIVEN the “excellent academic results” and discipline instilled by uniform, old-style discipline and rugby, I’m sure fee-paying schools defended by Rónán Mullen are capable of coping with the same teacher-pupil ratio and subject choices as “custom-built community schools.”

Having found the winning formula, I’m also sure that those fee-paying Catholic and Protestant institutions would be willing to spare a few of their “extra teachers” in order that the minister’s limited resources can stretch to those less fortunate pupils, particularly those suffering from disability.

May I also take Rónán gently by the arm and remind him that he could extend his educational references beyond Anglo-Saxon borders.
