I WISH to express my most profound gratitude and admiration at the extraordinary level of care and attention so generously lavished on me over the period of my recent sojourn to Cork University Hospital.

I was amazed by the unstinting efforts, good humour and cheerful manner of all of the nursing staff who, without exception, administered such a high level of care in spite of the many difficulties and long hours which, as we are all only too well aware, they have to endure.

I feel it is important to register this expression of appreciation because of the many criticisms frequently levelled against hospitals in general.
