The predictable smokescreen from the West includes coverage of a petty faux pas by Cherie Blair and the forced 'resignation' of the US Treasury chief - oh, and live coverage on Sky News of the trial of a celebrity shoplifter.

If a brutal and devastating raid using 25 tanks and several helicopters that kills ten people including two UN workers and an elementary school teacher can't get the proper attention of the international community, small wonder that Palestinians feel compelled to take the law into their own hands and join terrorist groups.
