THE Minister for Finance has extended Section 50 relief to encourage the construction of quality student accommodation.

Given the slum-like conditions in which some landlords expect students to exist, this is very welcome.

I cannot understand why the opposition have attacked this move. I’m sure that if a student protest took place over the shortage of quality accommodation, the likes of Enda Kenny, Pat Rabbitte and others would be heading it up.
