THE newspapers are awash with stories of people abusing alcohol and the numbers presenting at hospitals as a result of alcohol-related incidents, etc.

Yet Micheál Martin has rescinded the Groceries Order which now permits supermarkets, off-licences, forecourts and corner shops to sell alcohol at below-cost prices.

Does anyone see the connection here?
