Ex-offenders’ centre is a threat to my town
Instead of solving crime problems the do-gooders who want this centre here would only be adding fuel to the fire.
The centre would be only a stone’s throw from the Ursuline Convent secondary college for girls. They would have to pass it twice a day and their safety would be at risk.
There would be no one to stop ex-offenders visiting the grounds of the Ursuline Convent or, for that matter, the Mercy and the Grammar schools. Some of those people would be coming from prison after serving sentences for sex crimes.
It is the duty of the parents and the community to protect young children and teenagers.
This centre would be a clear danger to our citizens. I object to having the criminals of Ireland dumped on Sligo.
