The run of bad weather in this country is having an appalling effect on our agriculture sector with many now predicting crop shortages and failures because planting seasons have been so disrupted and farmers cannot access their waterlogged lands.
Tillage shortages have been predicted due to the late planting season with crops such as spring barley and wheat being most affected. A knock-on effect could also see a late harvest and lower crop yields.
