UK Labour imploding too - A party divided

Euroscepticism has already destroyed Britain’s Conservative party.

That, depending on your perspective, might be a good or a bad thing but it is surely a bad thing that one of the engines of British democracy, and not so long ago, European democracy has been so greatly reduced by the basest tribalism and captured by such nasty, insular forces.

The same fate, wrecked on Brexit’s rocky shores, seems to await the British Labour party.

A split emerged in the Momentum union yesterday over whether to back Jeremy Corbyn’s position while an equally powerful union voice Unison said it would back the pro-Remain motion at the party’s autumn conference in Brighton.

Battle lines are drawn,positions are hardening, and conflict seems unavoidable.

Even if these are matters of sublime indifference to you the fallout may not be.

British democracy is collapsing and may implode in the most dramatic ways.

Describing the process or trying to understand it may be far less important than preparing for its consequences.
