Mass shootings in America - Beyond reason

One of the great challenges of today’s world is trying to see the other’s point of view, to respect positions that are so far from your own considered position that they seem incomprehensible, dangerously uninformed, or just plain stupid. That challenge is exacerbated by the refusal of individuals or societies to change circumstances or behaviour that lead to, or at least facilitate, repeated tragedy.
New Zealand responded to March’s Christchurch massacre by enabling people to surrender military-grade small arms through a state-funded buy-back scheme. Though it is too early to be conclusive, the scheme seems to be having the desired effect.
