Sucking credibility out of the political system
Earlier this week, about 300 people gathered at a meeting organised by former Sinn Féin TD Peadar Tóibín, in Kildare, to test the waters on a new political party.
Since then, only one elected representative — Cavan Fianna Fáil councillor Sarah O’Reilly — quit an established party and nailed their colours to the yet-unnamed or established adventure.
