Soaring house prices: A more radical plan is needed

Last week a report showed that rents have risen by 70% since they fell to a recession low and are now 23% higher than at their Celtic Tiger peak.

Rents rose 11.5% nationally in the year to March and were up 2.8% on a quarterly basis.
