The Pro-Life Campaign attacked the legitimacy of the Citizens’ Assembly, after the latter voted by 87% to overturn the Eighth Amendment, reflecting an Irish Times/Ipsos MRBI poll published at the same time.

The PLC also called for an audit of the recruitment process for the assembly, because a small number of members were recruited outside agreed norms (these members did not attend the assembly meetings that considered abortion).
