Aer Lingus future - Firm could be sacrificed for political gain
Clearly, by sitting on its hands, rather than taking decisive action on the Goldman Sachs report on the airline’s future, the Government stands accused of pouring petrol on the flames.
Presumably, it was Government inactivity that prompted the departure of one of the most successful management teams in the global airline business, sending the market value of the company into a tailspin. From being profitable, its future is now in the balance. Without a proven management team in the cockpit, the prospect of flying Aer Lingus on the stock market will inevitably be put on the back burner.
