Illegal assets must aid in support plan

BEHIND the daily headlines of violent crime, all too often the victims and their families tend to be forgotten.

Yet, according to the voluntary group Victim Support, more than 35% of the cases it encountered in 2002 were the result of crime against the person.

Hopefully, a new partnership agreement with the gardaí to support the rights of victims of crime will herald a new era for the families of those targeted by criminals.
